In 2013, Patricia Williams welcomed her son, Redd, who was born with unnaturally white hair and beautiful almond-shaped eyes. Initially, both doctors and parents assumed the baby was simply blond, but as he grew older, it became apparent that Redd had albinism.

The medical professionals inquired about any family history of the condition. After some contemplation, the couple recalled that their 85-year-old grandmother, Patricia, was born with platinum blonde hair, making her the sole blonde on the Indian reservation. Although she never acknowledged having albinism, the doctors confirmed otherwise. Yet, as genetics would have it, the trait passed down to the next generation.

Interestingly, the grandmother discovered an archival photo where she stood as the only blonde among her Indian relatives. After six years, the family welcomed another son who also inherited this genetic condition. Apart from the hair and eye color, the disease has not manifested in any other way, and both boys are growing up active and healthy.

Already, 10-year-old Redd is receiving offers from advertising agencies to model for various brands.

The parents of Redd, now 10, and Rockwell, aged 3, humorously embrace the increased attention their children receive and gladly entertain requests from passers-by for photographs, as long as the kids themselves don’t mind.
