Doctors Advised Her To Lose Weight: Everyone Was Shocked When a 104-Pound Tumor Was Discovered Inside Her!
A 20-year-old woman found a new lease on life when doctors discovered tumors on both of her ovaries, collectively weighing over 100 pounds. Medical experts believed these tumors could have been growing since she began ovulating. Now, Allison Fisher can walk, drive, and simply breathe without difficulty. Allison felt that doctors dismissed her concerns at every visit, attributing her symptoms solely to being overweight.
Allison had a protruding, round stomach since fifth grade. “Looking back at pictures from fifth grade, something seemed off. Strangers often asked if I was pregnant,” she recalls. From childhood, doctors advised her to lose weight, regardless of her symptoms, be it a cold or an ear infection. So, she avoided doctor visits whenever possible, even when experiencing a year-long period in 2020. “I convinced myself that if I ignored it, it would go away,” Fisher continues. “I was scared. Terrified, really.”
In 2021, inspired by her mother’s recovery from cancer, Allison realized she couldn’t neglect her health any longer. She wanted to care for her mom, not the other way around. By then, her stomach was “rock hard,” making movement or standing for more than five minutes difficult. “It felt like I was carrying ten kids. I couldn’t lie on my stomach; it felt like all my organs were being crushed,” Allison shares. Despite her fears, she finally consulted a doctor in November 2022 when the mass began affecting her ability to breathe.
CT scans revealed a 104-pound tumor on her right ovary and a 12-pound mass on her left, which had twisted around itself three times. When she received the diagnosis of a massive 50 cm by 50 cm ovarian tumor, she cried tears of relief. Upon waking from surgery, Allison’s first words were, “Thank you so much; you saved my life!”
Recently, Allison underwent stomach surgery to aid in weight reduction. Before seeking medical help, she weighed 499 pounds, but she has since lost half of that weight. This transformation has allowed Allison to embrace life fully. “I feel incredible and look forward to finally living my life. I’m excited to find a job, to drive, and simply be myself again.” We are overjoyed that Allison can now enjoy life to the fullest. Ultimately, that’s what matters most, a lesson she embodies as a wife and mother who, despite being bound to a wheelchair, consistently radiates joy in photographs.
