Alison Porter was born on June 20, 1981, in Worcester, Massachusetts, USA. Her journey into the world of entertainment began at the tender age of three when she starred in her first commercial. By six, she had already appeared in the mini-series “I Will Conquer Manhattan” and by eight, she graced the screen in the film “Parents.” A year later, she landed a role in “Curly Sue,” alongside the renowned actor James Belushi.
Her portrayal of a child roaming the country with Belushi garnered widespread adoration, showcasing her charm, intelligence, and curly-haired innocence. Despite the success, it was decided that Alison would take a hiatus from acting to focus on her education. As she attended school in Connecticut, she discovered her passion for the stage, honing her vocal talents in children’s theater.
At 18, Alison relocated to New York and later to Los Angeles, where she pursued her interests in theater and music. In 2003, she became the lead singer of the band Raz, but the group disbanded a year later. Undeterred, she formed the Alisan Porter Project in 2005, yet failed to replicate the success of her earlier acting career.
Her breakthrough came in 2016 when she won the tenth season of the American show “The Voice.” Despite her musical achievements, her fame in Russia remains relatively unknown.
On a personal note, Alison triumphed over addiction and married Brian Otenrit, a former actor turned businessman, in 2012, after dating for 13 years. They share a blissful marriage and are proud parents to Mason Blaize and Aria Sage.
While Alison fondly recalls her acting experience in “Curly Sue,” she emphasizes that her true passion lies in music.
She cherishes her journey but remains steadfast in her dedication to her musical pursuits.
