Cillian Murphy’s latest look has sparked a buzz online, with many fans questioning if it’s really the famous actor. In a recently released photo, the 48-year-old Oscar-winning actor was spotted sporting a new appearance that left people doing a double take. Walking along a quiet street in Bath, Somerset, the silver screen icon appeared older, sporting gray hair and a beard.

Reports indicate that Murphy’s transformation is for his role in the Netflix adaptation of Max Porter’s 2023 novella “Shy,” which he has been busy filming. Clad in a black raincoat lined with cozy red cotton, Murphy was reportedly wrapping up his final scenes for the movie.

Known for his role as headteacher Tommy Shelby in BBC’s “Peaky Blinders,” Murphy is also delving into filmmaking through his production company, Big Things Films. His upcoming projects include “Steve,” where he plays an older headmaster, and “Small Things Like These,” a historical drama that he produced and starred in, which premiered at the Berlin Film Festival in February.

While some fans were taken aback by Murphy’s altered appearance, others took it in stride, noting his versatility and commitment to his craft.
