Jen Bricker-Bauer came into the world without legs. Her birth mother could not accept the little girl, but fortune smiled upon her when she was adopted by a loving family shortly after.
Her adoptive parents instilled in her from a young age that fear should never hold her back. Jen took these words to heart. Consequently, she was able to participate in basketball and volleyball with her peers at a young age, and later she pursued aerial gymnastics.
Despite doctors’ predictions that she would never be able to walk or even sit up unassisted, she remained steadfast in her belief in herself. What’s more, her parents went above and beyond to ensure she felt just as healthy as anyone else. Jen thus mastered walking on her hands as adeptly as most walk on their feet.
At the tender age of eight, gymnastics had already captivated her. This fascination was ignited in 1996 when she was glued to the television screen, rooting for her idol, Dominique Moceanu, in the Olympics. Imagine her astonishment when she later discovered that Dominique was her biological sister!
Fueled by this revelation, Jen immersed herself in training and achieved great success. The notion of a legless girl accomplishing such feats was met with skepticism by many. However, she became a champion, proving to all that nothing is truly impossible.
Now a grown woman, Jen is a professional acrobat, executing airborne maneuvers that many legged athletes cannot. Furthermore, she has established a strong bond with her biological family and is living a happy life.
Jen is happily married to the love of her life, and together, they are planning to start their own family soon. At any rate, let’s extend our best wishes for continued success to this remarkable woman!
