“I Hate Aging!”: What Singer Cher Would do to Stay Young

Cher started the conversation with her mother, who is 94 years old but claims to be 74, just like the singer: “I always thought she was incredibly beautiful, now I see her as a grandmother.” My mum and I still have a lot of fun together. But she’s getting older, which worries me.”

“I hate aging,” Cher admitted. – Am I meant to say that I adore it? No way, no how. Any woman who is honest with herself will tell you it’s not fun. When I was on tour, we’d do two performances a day and then party all night… You must now rest because you must perform again the next day.

Concerning her assassination attempt

“I don’t want to go out,” she adds, “because everyone now has a camera in their pocket – and it’s not safe.” People approach you, and you’re not sure if they want to kill you or simply photograph you.”\

In one of my cases, a man threatened to kill me. I was leaving a Broadway show using the back door. I assumed the man wanted to shake my hand, so he grabbed it and tucked it behind my back. ‘If you make one sound, I’ll kill you,’ he said as he led me along the street. Two men who eventually became my friends noticed something was wrong and began shouting in the street, raced up to me, and he yelled at me.

Concerning plastic surgery

Cher already discussed the pressure to be young in show business. She’s now a walking billboard for plastic surgery. “Do you think it’s a good thing? Who is it for? Some girls have surgery at the age of 18. That was never my intention. I’m not sure why they want large lips and an ass.”

Cher believes that surgery in her area is critical: “If you’re not good at what you do, people don’t care what you look like.” “I’ve been working on my body my whole life to keep it strong and resilient,” she says, but her voice is stronger than ever. Not all 20-year-old girls are capable of what I am.”

Concerning abandoning the stage

Cher’s first farewell tour began in 2002 and earned her over $100 million over the course of three years. What motivates her to take the stage now?

“I love standing on stage and singing. I love the feeling that comes from that moment inside… It’s huge, you feel like you can fill the whole space and put your whole audience inside that space. I’m very shy, but when I go on stage, everything changes,” Cher said. – A lot of stars are very shy, and I am too. But you have to move the audience from the stage and I know how to do it. If you have any pain, for an hour and a half, I’ll make you forget about it.
