”Like Dad, Like Daughter”: What Does Van Damme’s Daughter, Who Followed In His Footsteps, Look Like?

Bianca Brie was inevitably drawn to the world of acting, growing up amidst the cinematic exploits of her father, the renowned martial artist Jean Claude Van Damme, and her mother, former bodybuilder Gladys Portugez. Despite her familial ties to martial arts, Bianca’s upbringing also instilled in her a passion for sports, thanks to her mother’s athletic background.

From a young age, Bianca immersed herself in various disciplines, including karate, kickboxing, boxing, ballet, and figure skating. While she initially harbored dreams of participating in the Winter Olympics as a figure skater, she eventually found her calling in speed skating, setting her sights on the 2010 Olympic Games.

However, fate had other plans for Bianca. A back injury sustained during a race, compounded by her family’s relocation to Vancouver, Canada, dashed her Olympic aspirations.

Undeterred, Bianca redirected her focus towards acting, studying under John Casablanca in Vancouver and making her film debut in 2008.

Despite initial challenges, including the perception of being patronized due to her lineage, Bianca persevered, landing roles in films such as “The Frenchman” (2010) alongside her father and “Killer Games” (2011). A chance encounter with director Dominic Burns led to further opportunities in the UK, where she embraced stunt work and honed her acting skills.

Embracing her newfound passion, Bianca continued to expand her acting repertoire, starring in several films and forging a successful career in the industry.

In addition to her film work, she discovered a love for poetry and creative writing, further showcasing her multifaceted talents and artistic expression.
