Dogs are extremely intelligent animals, as we have frequently had to confirm.

It appears that many animals at animal shelters are already aware that they may entice potential owners using a number of strategies.

Many animals are favorable to using these strategies. Some wag their tails joyfully in an effort to entice and get the attention of those who are passing by the shelter. 

Cheech, a 2-year-old dog, who is the protagonist of this tale, discovered a new home by using… his endearing smile! 

Volunteers in Texas found the dog on the streets and brought him to a nearby shelter.

Soon, the staff at the animal facility began to observe the dog’s strange facial expression whenever someone approached his cage.

“As soon as I noticed his smile, I invited my friends over to observe him.”

According to Leah Sipe, the director of the shelter, at first, they believed Cheech was merely smirking or growling, but in fact, he turned out to be more sociable than ever.

Cheech was captured in a number of the woman’s images, which she then uploaded to the shelter’s official Facebook page, where they soon gained popularity. 

The pet’s endearing smile never failed to move people. Many of them even wanted to take him home with them! 

Different commenters each wrote, “I am sold!” 

After carefully evaluating each proposal, the shelter’s volunteers and staff assisted Cheech in finding a new family.

Carrie was the name of the person who became the dog’s new family. The day prior, one of her pets passed away and the second pet, Dusty was unable to deal with the death of her close friend. 

Everyone realized right once that Carrie, Dusty, and Cheech would get along just well when they first met. 

It’s wonderful that the quirky Cheech was able to find a new home because of this peculiar trait!
