“The Uniqueness And Beauty Of The House Is In Its Old Age”: Home Tour Inside Jamie Lee Curtis’ Almost 100 Years-Old House!

Jamie Lee Curtis and her husband, Christopher Guest, have shared a remarkable journey in their almost 100-year-old home, which they’ve cherished for nearly four decades. Their daughters, Annie and Ruby, have grown up in this beloved abode, which Curtis discovered in 1992.

Upon encountering the 1920s Spanish Colonial Revival home, Curtis was captivated by its potential, envisioning a space uniquely their own.

Guest, typically discerning during house hunting, found himself drawn to the house’s charming features, particularly its terra-cotta roof tiles and lush surroundings.

Despite its age and lack of updates by previous owners, Curtis and Guest embarked on a journey to breathe new life into their home.

Collaborating with professionals like Jan McFarland Cox and architect Michael B. Lehrer, they infused modern elements while preserving the home’s Mediterranean roots.

Their renovations prioritized family living, adding bedrooms for their children and revamping the master bedroom and bath. The kitchen, now the heart of their home, seamlessly connects to a family area, fostering warmth and togetherness.

Filled with cherished belongings, the home reflects the family’s journey and growth over the years. Curtis treasures the memories embedded in every corner, from scuff marks to height markings on the wall, symbolizing her children’s milestones.

Despite the passage of time, Curtis and Guest find solace and inspiration in their home’s enduring charm. For them, it’s not just a house but a sanctuary where love and memories intertwine, embodying the true essence of “home.”
