Everyone can live in their dream home if they put in the effort to achieve it. A British woman invested £250,000 to transform an old building into a luxurious mansion. Years after purchasing the property, she planned a major renovation, resulting in an impressive transformation.

Katie Wilson, 36, dedicated years to meticulously planning her stunning home makeover. She turned the once run-down building into a magnificent mansion featuring five bedrooms, an office, and a roof terrace.

In February 2015, Katie bought the house, built in 1930, located in Derbyshire. Despite its impressive exterior, the building required extensive renovations.

The transformation work began in 2018. The house was redesigned to include four additional bedrooms, two of which have en-suite bathrooms. Additionally, a study and a roof terrace were added.

Katie also incorporated a new kitchen, pantry, toilet, recreation area, and playroom into the home.

The most challenging aspect was renovating the building’s facade.

Katie’s favorite spot in the house is the bedroom, where she used partitions to create small spaces for a TV and a beauty area.

Before the renovation, everything was stripped down to the plaster to accommodate underfloor heating and to install custom stairs and other bespoke wooden structures.

Katie revamped not only the interior but also the exterior facade and the surrounding green space.

She documented the transformation process on Instagram, where she has 48,000 followers. Katie encourages others to take on home renovation projects themselves, as it saves money and provides great satisfaction.
